My learnings and contribution
- My time with IBM Research started parallel to my grad school at UCSB, in the form of a research internship, which later converted to a full time offer.
- From then I've learnt to organize and ground my research better, keeping in mind the end product and it's utility.
- I got to work with some of the pioneers in data and AI space, which this lab is well known for.
- This brought into perspective the importance of structured research in establishing and maintaining technical prowess in the market, which has gotten us this far as a tech community.
- This place also highly encouraged publishing and patenting, which helped me develop a mindset to look at everyday problems through the lens of an inventor and find the most sustainable solutions
- Along with it, I learnt the importance of "slowing down to speed up" as coached by one of my managers - the importance of taking a step back to think and plan before executing.
- I worked on Watson OneNLP and Watson Health product lines and other POCs in the capacity mentioned above, during my time here.
